Is anyone out there?

I've been sitting here at my computer feeling sorry for myself with a bad case of a flu but have been getting a good old dose of recovery through discovering some great blogs.

We've just been treated to two glorious days away from the school run with yesterday being the Ekka public holiday and today being a school free day for people in our neck of the woods to go and have fun at the show. Not us I'm afraid. Yesterday was horribly wet and today it's been pretty windy and the boys have been more than a little ferral so we haven't really felt in the mood to treat them to a day of sideshows and dagwood dogs. We were planning on getting away for a mini break over this week but then the dog got sick, a cold sore appeared on my lip, my husband's sciatica returned with a vengence and the weather told us to just not bother. So we didn't and have spent our time just hanging out, doing what we wanted around the house, or doing nothing at all. Although the boys made sure that it wasn't as relaxing as it could be. Best friends but worst enemies. Boys! I just don't get them.

Anyway, it's now kids' free time with them all tucked up nice and snuggly in their beds. My husband's about ten minutes away from falling asleep on the couch and then it's my time to commandeer the remote control and watch all those trashy programmes that he doesn't like. Ha, ha, ha!!!

Inspiration

I've been avidly following a few blogs lately, some of friends doing exciting things like travelling the world on a boat, some of people restoring properties to their former splendour and some of people proudly sharing their lives, passions, family news, hopes and dreams. They've not only entertained me but also inspired me to try my hand at this wonderful world of blogging. So please be patient with my efforts, kick off your shoes, sit back and let me take you on a journey through the halls that house my brood.
